A series of Victorian pictorial engravings combined with 19th-century poetry, digitally hand-coloured by me. The original line drawings, which once illustrated books from the 1800s, are in the public domain. I've paired each illustration with a few lines of poetry, including Byron, Blake, Tennyson, Noyes, Keats, Hardy, the Brontes, Yeats, Swinburne, Meredith, Poe, Rossetti, Coleridge, Shelley, and Teasdale.
